We moved into our new home last week and I’ve been super busy trying to unpack boxes and get everything squared away. Luckily, before we moved I organized the boxes by room and donated a lot of stuff that I didn’t need. This made moving and unpacking so much easier.
But there are still boxes of stuff to go through and I’ve even managed to get rid of a few more items as I go. We still have boxes at our other house to move, too. It’s amazing how much stuff we’ve acquired over the years! I thought that I would be overwhelmed and get sick of unpacking really fast. But, it hasn’t been that bad. Now that I have more room to put things, organizing all my stuff is a lot easier.
Reverse Canvas Bathroom Signs
Before we moved, I managed to find time to make these cute reverse canvas bathroom signs for my guest bathroom in the new house. I love how they turned out and the best part is that they only cost $3 to make! Keep reading to see how to make these reverse canvas signs for your own bathroom.
What you need:
- 2 5×7″ canvases
- Wall stickers for bathroom
- Wood stain
- Foam brush
- Old rag
- Scissors
- Hot glue
What you do:
Step 1
Before you begin, make sure to cover your work space so you don’t get stain on anything. If possible, work outside.
Remove the staples from the back of the canvases. These are quite hard to get out, so I used a flathead screwdriver to pull them out. I found that the ones in the corners were a lot easier to remove. Once the staples are out you can remove the frame from the canvas.
Step 2
Now it’s time to stain the wood frame. You can use any wood stain you like, whatever color you like. We had some stain leftover that we used to refinish our master bedroom and closet floor, so I just used some of that. You don’t need a lot since the frames are small and a little stain goes a long way.
Use the foam brush to paint the stain all over both frames. Make sure to get the inside corners really well. Then, use the old rag (or an old sock) to wipe over the stain, removing the excess. Set aside to dry. (Don’t worry – it dries really fast.)
Step 3
Once the stain is completely dry, lay the wood frame down onto the front side of the canvas. Glue the frame in place using hot glue. Then cut the excess canvas away from the wood frame.
Tip: angle the scissors to the side so you can cut close to the frame.
Step 4
Next, add the wall stickers to the reverse canvas bathroom signs. The stickers peel right off and are very easy to apply. The sheet comes with 3 stickers, but I only used 2 of them. Just peel them off and center them in the middle of the frame.
That’s it! For just $3 and 4 easy steps, you can have pretty new bathroom decor! I love how these reverse canvas bathroom signs turned out and how easy they were to make.

Thank you! Unpacking was going well until I twisted my ankle and now I can’t walk on it. Ugh! I guess God was telling me to rest. ? Thank you! They’re so easy to make, too!
Oh no! I am so sorry! Praying for a speedy recovery. ? But yes, God may have been nudging you to rest too. Take your time and go slow!

How is it going with settling in to the new place.
Thank you so much!
So far I’ve finished unpacking the kitchen and bathrooms, which were most important. Then I twisted my ankle so I have to wait to get everything else up. Seeing boxes everywhere is stressing me out! haha! But I love being able to sit and soak it all in, too.
Hope you feel better soon and can get those boxes sorted out.
Thank you!
So cute!!
Thank you!

Hi Michelle. These are adorable ideas. Do you have your own product line?
Thank you so much! I don’t yet, but I’ve been considering it as soon as I get settled into the new house. ?
Yay!! So happy to hear you are finally in your new home!! How exciting!! Love your fun signs!! Such a creative and inexpensive way to add art to your bathroom!! ?
Thank you!! I’m excited to get all the boxes packed away and out of site. ? Thank you!!
Congrats on officially moving in! That must be so exciting for you and the fam!
This DIY made me chuckle a bit because I made a very, very makeshift bathroom sign that wasn’t nearly as well made as yours back a few years ago when I had a graduation party from grad school. Our guest bathroom has a very fickle toilet, so I printed out detailed (!) instructions on how to flush it and then simply stuck the paper inside a frame and sat it on top of the toilet ??.
Thank you!! It is exciting and finally starting to feel like home and not some weird vacation. ?
Haha! That’s awesome!! At least you let everyone know how the toilet worked. ??
That’s great!
BRILLIANT idea!!
