Work from home jobs scam alert

Watch for these red flags when you’re searching the internet for jobs to make extra from home:

  • A website with no contact info
    • Legitimate businesses have ways you can contact them
    • Look for an “about page” that has information on the company as well as a phone number, address, or contact email
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it is
  • There’s a fee
    • You should never have to pay to get a job.
    • May have to pay a membership to a job board, but never for the job itself
    • If you’re not sure why you’re paying a fee, look somewhere else
  • There are complaints against the company
    • Type the name of the company into Google and then type the word “scam” after it. If people have been scammed by the company they will post about it somewhere.
