This cute hurricane candle holder was made using only items from Dollar Tree!
If you have been following my blog for a while you’ll know I’m a tad addicted to Dollar Tree. I love buying things from there and putting them together to make them look like decor pieces you would find at a high-end store. My home is decorated with items I’ve made using mostly things from Dollar Tree.
Which is exactly what I did to make this cute little hurricane candle holder.
Not only does this hurricane candle holder go great with fall decor, but you can also make it your own and add any embellishments for any season or holiday.
I’ll show you how to make the hurricane candle holder as well as the grubby candle. It’s all very easy, but the candle takes a little bit of time because of the drying process. Grunging a candle to make it look primitive is also very messy so cover your craft area before you begin.

*Except for the E6000 and spray paint, all of my materials came from Dollar Tree. This project cost me around $5 to make.
There are different ways to do this out there on Pinterest, but this is easiest for me. Plus the cinnamon makes it smell good!
Beware: it gets messy!!
I love the way it turned out!!
I think this hurricane candle holder is so cute for a cheap fall DIY. It doesn’t have to be limited to fall, though. Make it for any time of the year! Best of all it cost under $10 to make and you still have plenty of supplies left over to make a lot more candles.

Thank you so much!
Fun idea. I spend a lot of time in hurricane country, and candles are essential.
Thank you! I can imagine they are a necessity. ?
You are amazing, can't believe you have time to do fun DIY's along with rebuilding a home. Then you have homeschooling on top of that. I know what you are doing is super hard so thank you for sharing your crafts with us. I bet this one smells wonderful with the cinnamon. I have a lot to catch up on with everyone. I did not accomplish my goals for the summer but I sure had fun trying to. Have a beautiful Sunday and Happy Fall adventures.
Thank you so much! I have to make time for DIY's or I'll go crazy. :D Thank you for your kind words. :) I understand not accomplishing all of your goals, but that's ok. I'm glad you had fun, though! I think that's the best part of setting goals - the fun of trying to meet them. Yet not being too hard on ourselves if we don't. I hope you have enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hi Michele, you are always so sweet to come by and visit me, I wanted to see what you are up to. I LOVE this project. So funny because a few years back I did that to candles an it was a project, that was a HOT mess LOL. Your votive is great and your candles are perfect.
Oh no!! I've had quite a few hot mess projects myself. :D Thank you so much for your kind words and your visit to my blog. It means a lot to me!
When the "candle" is "lit," with the warmth of the batteries, can you smell the coffee and cinnamon?
NVM, just reread and found the answer - yes on the cinnamon. :)
:D Yes, the cinnamon spells really nice, too. I love the scent most in the fall. :D
